Clos de Luz was launched in 2015 by Edwards Cosmelli & five brothers: a young and dynamic team rescuing old family vineyards, using traditional vinification techniques with a modern management attitude.
The focus for our wines is quality and freshness, not an over extracted, alcoholic and oaky style.
Clos de Luz is a family winery located in Almahue Valley, known as the birthplace of Carménère in Chile. The estate, bought by our great grandfather in 1892 had been in the family for 6 generations. Now spreads over 33 hectares of vineyards, planted in 1945 by Gabriel’s grandmother Luz. They are some of the oldest Carménère vineyards in Chile, and probably in the world.
The domaine's vineyards are 100% ungrafted. Because Chile is isolated from the phylloxera, they are planted “franc de pied”, giving a unique character to the wines. The vineyards are also 100% Massal selection from old vineyards, as opposed to a large majority of vineyards planted using clonal selection (all genetically identical plants). This method preserves the natural diversity of the plants.
Winemaking Philosophy In our Massal 1945 we look for elegance, balance and aging potential. Though our wines we want to express the singularities of our terroir Almahue, so we remain using just natural processes with minimal intervention.
Our key points include an early harvesting process made 100% by hand, fermentations starts spontaneously thanks to the indigenous yeasts, not acidification and chemical products are added to the wines. The wines are stabilized naturally thanks to the cool temperature in the cellar.

Cantine Aldegheri is an Italian family-run winery founded in 1956 and based in the heart of the Classical Valpolicella, between Lake Garda and Verona. The fine balance between technology and love of nature, together with the long-standing experience, has allowed the Aldegheri family to achieve high-quality wines over the years. Our range includes all the typical Valpolicella wines, such as Ripasso, Amarone and Recioto, as well as an interesting range of DOC wines (like Lugana, Custoza and Soave) and IGT Verona wines (such as our Corvina blends).
Quinta do Sampayo is a large agricultural estate covering about 90 hectares, with 55 dedicated to vineyards and 11 to olive groves. The vineyard features carefully selected grape varieties suited to the local conditions, including Touriga Nacional, Aragonez, Trincadeira, Castelão, Syrah, and Alicante Bouschet for reds, and Arinto and Fernão Pires for whites. The estate also has over a thousand century-old Galega olive trees. In the aging cellar, we store hundreds of French and American oak barrels, enhancing the wines' structure, aroma, and longevity, reflecting our commitment to quality and excellence.

Dehesa de Luna is a familiar winery that produces premium organic wines, estate bottled, the winery is placed in the middle of a protected natural area of 3000Ha (where only 64Ha are vineyards). This Biodiversity Reserve is a Mediterranean forest inhabited by imperial eagles, great bustards, red partridges, etc. Looking to protect our fauna and flora we development a sustainable project to ensure its environment in the future. Our wines are organic and vegan, and our winery has the IFS certification.
